Meeting of two Global hubs of the UNAI: India and Kazakhstan in Maharashtra state

For the first time representatives of two Global hubs of UNAI, KazNU Al-Farabi and the College of Architecture for girls named after Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati met in the Indian state of Maharashtra in Pune.

On the agenda were such issues as sustainable development, gender equality and access to educational resources. Director of the UNAI hub, Professor Asmita Joshi described in detail the activities of the UNAI global hub for poverty alleviation and three training programs in Tanzania, Zambia and Jamaica. These programs, in cooperation with UNAI, have provided environmental education to students and helped create a comfortable environment for schoolchildren. Representatives of the UNAI KazNU hub told about the University’s projects on the program “Green Bridge Through Generations”, about participation of scientists in the international exhibition EXPO-2017, and also projects of students in the field of sustainable development. Simultaneously, on February 22-24, 2018, KazNU students who arrived in India took part in the UN Model – New Silk Road. Students of the FMA Sailauova Shynar and Abdaz Sana. acted as competent chairmen of sections of the UN Model – New Silk Road. Today, the youth of the countries of South and Central Asia take an active part in achieving development goals, take active initiatives, and take leadership responsibility. The youth of our countries are an important resource for changes in society, and higher educational institutions help young people achieve their goals. As well as KazNU, the College is one of the ten global hubs of the UNAA and positions the goals: eradicating extreme poverty, providing access to economic resources for all people around the world, calls for partnership between developing and developed countries. Students of KazNU with sincere interest met with college girls, learned that they were getting knowledge in the field of architecture, interior design and digital, environmental and landscape architecture. The college has good technical equipment, which allows students to receive technical skills, develops creativity and creativity. Representatives of KazNU, in turn, invited new friends from India to visit Almaty to get acquainted with the projects of the global hub of the UNAI on sustainable development at KazNU named after al-Farabi and take part in the international student game “Model UN – New Silk Road”, which traditionally will be held in April 2018.
