AL-FARABI KAZNU ALIGNED UNAI UNIVERSITIES OF ALMATY INITIATING THE APPEAL FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE HIGH-LEVEL MEETING
Students and young Scholars from the UNAI Universities (UN Program “Academic Impact”) under the auspices of the UN Regional Resource support Center of the al-Farabi KazNU with the promotion and support of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty and the Department of Public Information of the United Nations in Almaty prepared an appeal to the participants of the high-level meeting ” KAZAKHSTAN – UNITED NATIONS: EXPERIENCE, ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROSPECTS OF COOPERATION”.
The high-level meeting was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first UN office in Kazakhstan. K. Abdrakhmanov, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, B. Baibek, the Mayor of Almaty, Heads of the UN Agency in Kazakhstan, representatives of diplomatic corps, academic and expert community took part in the event.
In their address in 7 languages, they noted the UN’s high contribution to the development of Kazakhstan the role and contribution of our country to the sustainable development achievement, maintenance of peace and stability. The main message of the appeal of the young generation of UNAI universities is the role of education and academia on the way to realize the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN and solving global problems. Recognizing themselves as part of the United Nations and realizing all responsibility, the initiators of the appeal expressed hope and conviction in achieving the main goals and principles of the United Nations through the joint efforts.
The appeal was prepared under the leadership of the director of the UN Regional Resource Support Center, of al-Farabi KazNU, PhD, Delovarova L.F.
