Model United Nations – New Silk Way
Press Conference on joint Model UN Conference in India, on March 05, 2018
“Model UN New Silk Way” team plans to organize the press conference dedicated to the successful completion of the first joint International Model UN Conference at B.N. College of Architecture for Women, Pune (BNCAWP), India, on February 23-24, 2018.
The Joint MUN NSW-BNCAWP conference was the first-ever international event organized in partnership between India and Kazakhstan. This event has greatly contributed to the development of warm friendly relations not only between universities and academic communities but also between networks of young dedicated people who care about building peaceful and comprehensive relations between two countries in the spirit of the Silk Way.
The deep collaboration also manifested in the collaboration of two hubs of the United Nations Academic Impact Programs (UNAI on gender and UNAI on Sustainability) presenting a new model for collaboration between UNAI members.
The MUN NSW conference has collaborated with partners in India since 2011 and this visit also allowed building stronger relations with partners in India in the spirit of the New Silk Way and “south-south cooperation.”
For many years, universities in India organized national and international Model UN conferences and hosted delegates from across the country. Over the years, the collaboration between Model UN New Silk Way and various Model UN clubs in India became stronger. MUN NSW regularly brings dynamic young minds annually to its international MUN NSW Conference, to deliberate on some of the world’s most pressing issues.
In 2018, MUN NSW will organize the following UN agency:
– UN Women – Protection of Women’s Rights in Areas of Conflict;
Model United Nations-New Silk Way (MUN- NSW) is a regional students-led program. It works in collaboration with the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University – one of the top academic institutions in Kazakhstan, and the Global Hub on Sustainability of the United Nations Academic Impact initiative (UNAI). Model UN – New Silk Way allowed to reproduce the United Nations work in real time, by the students of different universities of Almaty. On one day, students transform into diplomats act as representatives of the UN.
Model UN-NSW is being organized with the support of and collaboration with the United States Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan and the United Nations Information Office.
