The KazNU for the Third time Headed the Global Hub on Sustainability of the UN Program
On April 19, 2018 held a press conference on the receipt to the Al-Farabi KazNU status of the UN Global Hub for Sustainable Development until 2020.
Handing in the certificate, signed by UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Alison Smile, The head of the UN Department of Public Information in Almaty, Vlastimil Samek noted that Al-Farabi KazNU is deservedly leading education, science, and naturally, that he had the honor to represent Exposure to extreme among thousands of universities around the world authority of the UN Global hub for sustainability. The Al-Farabi KazNU was the first among the universities of Central Asia to join the “Academic Influence” program in 2011. The KazNU massively involves young researchers in the scientific and educational environment through the program “Green Bridge Through Generations”. Currently, 25 universities in Kazakhstan have joined the UN Academic Impact program. Alliance established universities in the country, which will help to unite the intellectual potential of the academic community and the youth initiative and energy of students towards the realization of 17 goals of sustainable development and the UN solve global problems. The presentation of the official certificate of authority of the KazNU as the UNAI HUB on sustainable development sets new goals and objectives for the university, is an important evidence of the university’s leading role in the field of sustainable development, and becomes a powerful impetus for the integration processes of education and science for the sake of a safe and prosperous future.
