Expert of “Total” Energy Company from France delivered lectures on “Leadership and Сareer Management” for al-Farabi KazNU students
AL Farabi KazNU. The Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development in cooperation with the Total Corporation has implemented a training program “Development of Global Citizenship for “Sustainable Development” at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Within the framework of partnership and cooperation, on February 4, 2019, Professor Hervé Oberreiner delivered lectures and practical seminars on talent management entitled “Developing Talents and Leadership.” A series of lectures and seminars was tailored for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of the University in various specialties.
During the lectures, Professor Hervé Oberreiner covered several topics related to leadership development and talent management and career development using examples his personal experience in the oil and gas sectors. Thus, among the most covered topics were: “Introduction to talent management leadership development”; “Career management: how the short, medium and long term goals intersect”; “Career management: a shared responsibility”; “Recruitment: a coherent policy”. Also, the Professor spoke about effectively managing the specific features of short-term, medium-term and long-term career goals and objectives. As part of the lectures, the presenter offered the case studies of practical problems in new recruitment for a large corporation focusing on keeping consistent policy in talent management in various corners of the world. The students asked numerous questions about the case of Kazakhstan and other countries in career management.
Mr. Oberreiner is an experienced international expert in the field of talent development and he regularly lectures at various universities around the world (France, China, Middle East and Asia).
The main purpose of lectures organized by the Total Corporation is to Supplement theoretical knowledge of students with practical skills and to understand the process of recruitment and management of career growth and talents on the example of one of the leading energy company as total.
Much attention is also paid to the development of ideas of global citizenship and international cooperation in the field of science and education between Kazakhstan and France.
