“Mini Model UN” at the UN house in Almaty

April 3, 2015, held the “Mini Model UN” at the UN house in Almaty for the first time in the history. Students from different universities of Almaty were attended in the model, as well as the students from other cities of Kazakhstan. The organizers of this model are the students of the Faculty of International Relations of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 4-year students of the International Relations Faculty Ahmad Wali Ahmad Yar and Tleubekova Korlan chaired the Security Council Committee. 4-year student university UIB Alex Kim and the master’s degree’s student of Faculty of Oriental Studies of the al-Farabi KazNU Karataev Bauirzhan chaired the Committee of the General Assembly. At the opening of the model have been invited: Adviser on Education, Culture and press the US Consulate General in Almaty Charles Martin, chairman of the Information Office of the UN in Central Asia Vlastimil Samek and the director of Model United Nations “New Silk Way” Räfis Abazov. In committees considered the problem of transboundary waters in Central Asia, as well as the problem of disarmament in the Middle East. Model UN took place at a high level, students actively participated in the discussions and in the adoption of the resolution. All participants were awarded with certificates and were assigned 1,2,3 places.
